The thing about patriarchy is that individual men, gay and straight, are often really wonderful people who you love deeply, but they have internalized some really poisonous shit. So every once in a while they say or do something that really shakes you because you’re no longer totally certain they see you as a human being, and you feel totally disempowered to explain that to them.

It’s funny because sometimes when person A spends their “entire life” doing nice things for person B it’s only when it’s also convenient for person A during their leisure, and often those are things that person B doesn’t even need or want (but they are kind of nice regardless). And then, when person B actually needs this one thing from person A and they fuck up, person B is going to be severely disappointed so that’s why they will remember it better.

The whole “feminism is sexist” thing because it concentrates on women’s issues is so ridiculous. You would never go to a cancer prevention group and give them lip about how they’re anti-health because “their focus isn’t about preventing all diseases and bodily problems.” Focus and specialization are generally helpful to the aims of any organization, and are not de facto indicators of special privilege or in this case, “sexism.”
