R.I.P. Paul Lukather 1926-2014
A bit of sad news to report guys. From the Legacy of Kain wiki facebook page:““It’s not often I see one of our own, especially one as young and foolish as yourself. Nonetheless, drink. Drink deep and indulge your gift.” – Vorador
The Legacy of Kain Wiki team is extremely saddened to report the death of Paul Lukather, the voice actor of Vorador and Bane. Paraphrased from our article: Paul’s career spanned over half a century’s worth of roles on film and television. Throughout the years, he appeared in series such as The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Get Smart, Mission: Impossible, Starsky and Hutch and Cheers, and starred or co-starred in 1960s films Dinosaurus!, Hands of a Stranger and The Way West. He also maintained a presence in stage acting and engaged in philanthropic work.
Lukather was among the six voice actors in the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. The cast impressed series creator Denis Dyack and writer Ken McCulloch, and Lukather’s part, Vorador, emerged as “one of the most popular characters” judging from fan-mail following the game’s release. He reprised his role for three of the four further Legacy of Kain games. Richard Lemarchand described Vorador as a “fan favourite.” Rightly so; we will never forget his masterfully imposing performance as the elder vampire, the “father figure” to Kain himself.
Paul died in October of last year, aged 88.Acting alongside Michael Bell (Raziel) in Defiance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYarAVdDJIw
“Once I embraced my powers, I realized that Vorador was correct. We are gods – dark gods – and it is our duty to thin the herd.” – Kain

…If George Lucas had stuck to his original vision, Harrison Ford never would have been cast as Han Solo. Lucas had set a rule that he didn’t want to cast any actors from his earlier film American Graffiti, and Ford was one of them. Casting consultant Fred Roos hired Ford, who had a background in carpentry, to install a door at the American Zoetrope, where the Star Wars auditions were being held, in the hopes that his mere presence would change Lucas’ mind. Apparently, this worked.
