The markhor, also known as the screw horn goat, is a large species of wild goat that is found in northeastern Afghanistan, northern and central Pakistan, Northern India, southern Tajikistan, southern Uzbekistan and in the Himalayas. Though recently categorized as endangered, they’ve recently been downgraded to near threatened as their population has increased by 20% in the past few years.
