Party on the seafloor! Our intrepid colleagues at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) spotted this uncommon gathering of deep sea critters living it up 6,394 feet (1949 meters) under the sea.
Pom pom crabs and sea anemones
have their own tiny cheer squads. The
crabs wave the stinging anemones
around to defend themselves against
predators, while the anemones collect
food particles they can feast on after
sharing with their crab besties.
