Seriously, Griffith is always the star of his own shampoo commercial.
Uh, now that I have watched the first movie, I still come down on the side of the original anime. Not that the movie is bad, but even three 80-minute movies aren’t quite enough time to really establish both the political and personal relationships that made this arc have any sort of resonance with the viewer or reader. How can you really appreciate their downfall if both the past and the present are just told to you, instead of organically established? At the end of the first movie, Guts is already reeling from hearing that Griffith doesn’t consider him an equal, you know?
(The downfall of the manga is the eventual loss of focus/plotline, mountains of demonrape, etc.)
Aw, that’s too bad. I had a lot of hope for those movies, even though the CGI didn’t win me over.

I feel an obligation to reblog this, the editing is simply outstanding. Easily the best Berserk amv to date.
Susumu Hirasawa’s Aria in 8-bit version.
>yfw the whole gang dies off and Guts is back to square one.
Then Guts dies killing Griffith, and Casca and Puck comes out the crashed Normandy on some alien planet.
Yes, flawless.
