Ayreon - Isis and Osiris
Day Thirteen: Sign - Ayreon
The other day, I listened to another concept album by Ayreon, the band who did Into The Electric Castle, which I really dig. Into The Human Equation tells the story of a man who is in a coma, and it takes place entirely inside his mind. Each song is a different day inside his mind.
- Day One: Vigil
- Day Two: Isolation
- Day Three: Pain
- Day Four: Mystery
- Day Five: Voices
- Day Six: Childhood
- Day Seven: Hope
- Day Eight: School
- Day Nine: Playground
- Day Ten: Memories
- Day Eleven: Love
- Day Twelve: Trauma
- Day Thirteen: Sign
- Day Fourteen: Pride
- Day Fifteen: Betrayal
- Day Sixteen: Loser
- Day Seventeen: Accident?
- Day Eighteen: Realization
- Day Nineteen: Disclosure
- Day Twenty: Confrontation
What a great post, thank you for this c’:
It should be noted that Ayreon is not really a band tho; it’s just the project’s name, and there are different singers and musicians featured on each album.
Ayreon - The Truth is Here
Now I have that dream again; I live beneath the waves
in a realm of grace and majesty
In the distance shadows loom, cold machines rise from the deep
in a world once proud and free
I hate to have that dream again, they live inside my head
feeling everything I feel inside
They speak to me in dreams, they can see all I can see
they have always been my guide

Today I’ve been looking for any and all recordings of Irene Jansen singing. I think I’ve found almost everything there is (except for the demo she made with her now-defunct band, Karma). There’s not much out there, which is a real shame. She’s absolutely fantastic.
Irene is the best Merlin ♥

Chosen Song: Another Time, Another Space
A secret yearning lurks inside
like a dream trying to hide
Another time, another space
An empty feeling haunts my brain,
a strange void I can’t explain
Another time, another space
