Super rad, small shoaling fish endemic to fresh and brackish waters in northern regions of Australia and New Guinea. Males exhibit a set of very flashy fins, occasionally sparring and displaying with other males of a shoal. In the aquarium trade there are variants in color and finnage within the same species depending on the isolated areas original specimens are collected from.

Both ghost shark species are taken almost exclusively as a bycatch of other target trawl fisheries
