Day Thirteen: Sign - Ayreon
The other day, I listened to another concept album by Ayreon, the band who did Into The Electric Castle, which I really dig. Into The Human Equation tells the story of a man who is in a coma, and it takes place entirely inside his mind. Each song is a different day inside his mind.
- Day One: Vigil
- Day Two: Isolation
- Day Three: Pain
- Day Four: Mystery
- Day Five: Voices
- Day Six: Childhood
- Day Seven: Hope
- Day Eight: School
- Day Nine: Playground
- Day Ten: Memories
- Day Eleven: Love
- Day Twelve: Trauma
- Day Thirteen: Sign
- Day Fourteen: Pride
- Day Fifteen: Betrayal
- Day Sixteen: Loser
- Day Seventeen: Accident?
- Day Eighteen: Realization
- Day Nineteen: Disclosure
- Day Twenty: Confrontation
What a great post, thank you for this c’:
It should be noted that Ayreon is not really a band tho; it’s just the project’s name, and there are different singers and musicians featured on each album.
Ayreon - Day 8: School
“Be a man, give in to hate!
You better learn to communicate
Better to learn to protect yourself!
That’s not the way to get out of this hell”
Don’t rack your brain, let it all go
Savour the moment and feel your blood flow
Look at you; lying there,
Defenseless and alone.
See, I’m no fool-I always knew
You wouldn’t make it on your own.Cause you’re just like your mother
Well, where is she now?
You’ll end up like her soon-
Six feet underground!LOSER
Killing it from afar, go tell it in a bar
You’re killing it from afar my father
I am pain
I am real. I’m not a dream
I’m the chain around your neck as you scream
I can’t accept this, we will find a way
out of this cesspool of doom and dismay
Beyond this dejection there’s beauty and grace
a glorious future we long to embrace
Day Eleven: Love - Ayreon
[Fear] You’re afraid she might turn you down
All your hopes dashed to the ground
Nobody loved you, nobody will
Why should you even try…but still…
