I actually can’t tolerate anyone who sympathizes with Griffith after he raped Casca. It’s not morally right to sympathize or feel sorry for a rapist. Its down right sickening.

Using someone else’s appreciation for a fictional character as a means of practicing intolerance towards another human being certainly is the morally superior thing to do haha

That being said, why is it so hard to grasp that some people like Griffith because he’s actually a well-constructed character fit for a morally questionable story that Berserk is in the first place? Griffith’s appeal lies in the fact that the things he does are, indeed, downright despicable but there’s an outlined reason for his actions that makes the viewer, to a certain extent, understand why he does the things he does without necessarily supporting him; the Golden Age basically shows his descent from a relatively decent person to a terrifying man, and a part of the fact why people sympathize with him is that, unlike many tragic villains, he did it all to himself by making a series of unfortunate (not to say idiotic) decisions. For me, Griffith is an awfully human character and that is what makes his part of the story so engaging to follow.
