Haha I must be a pretty grim person myself since I originally started shipping these two characters mainly because their relationship could make for really interesting clashes and tension.

Don’t get me wrong; I love my fluff and the possible comfort aspect of this particular ship (plus I really like reading about other people’s headcanons and stuff!). However, I think that if we were to take the perspective of a long-term relationship into consideration, things would get sour pretty fast. Like you’ve said, their personalities and moral perception are practically a string of polar opposites, and I think that compromise of any sort wouldn’t be possible to achieve in such a situation; not only because Slick doesn’t strike me as a character capable of accommodating anyone, but also because I can’t imagine Ms. Paint accepting some (and by “some” I guess I mean “vast majority”) of his “habits” under any circumstances. It is not to say that I consider any of them to be a terrible person (well, okay, Slick is sort of terrible hah), it’s just that their cultures are so different and what one considers to be the norm is unethical to another; that’s also why I think that it wouldn’t be so simple (if possible at all) to see the other’s perspective, so a complete change of character “for the better” isn’t something I would see as plausible.

I think that, in a way, they could both benefit from knowing eachother (maybe), but I really don’t think that a romantic relationship could work out for them, and even if it did, I believe it would be abusive (not neccessarily in a physical way), like you’ve said. And there’s possibly something wrong with me, because the possibility of a relationship where literally everything has the potential of going terribly wrong is exactly why I find this ship so interesting.

I could go on and on about other aspects and ideas, but this got kinda long already AND YEAH THIS IS why I never really take part in any slickpaint discussions haha :’)
