realmonstrosities

There are many reasons to avoid walking barefoot through the forests of Malaysia. Snakes, spiders, centipedes, incredibly poisonous frogs unknown to science (maybe they’ll name it after you, it’s first verified human victim!) and now this. A walking bundle of rusty tetanus.

The Spiky Grouse Grasshopper (Discotettix belzebuth) reaches less than an inch long and is presumably well suited to living camouflaged among leaf litter and bits of wood.

The fact that they could go equally unseen in a damp shed is pure coincidence, I’m sure.
