Kely, a Ring-tailed Lemur (Lemur catta) at Melbourne Zoo in Victoria, Australia, has given birth to two new babies. They are the first lemur young to be born in the zoo in 10 years, and brings zoo numbers up to ten.
In the wild, lemurs typically give birth to just one infant, and they are difficult to breed in captivity. They are listed as “Near Threatened” by the IUCN Red List.

REALLY pleased with this!! I took this yesterday at Bristol Zoo. A baby lemur :DDDD
A few Indri Lemur vocalising. Apparently, if you stand this close in real life, the calls are deafening. They can be heard around 2 miles away. I can see how the Malagasy used to have a legend that lemurs, particularly the Indri, are the spirits of the dead.
