Oh my god.

Fuck! I’m in my twenties! Everyone has that moment—the realization that adulthood has arrived, like a runaway train, and there’s no getting out of its way. In attempt to express the contradictions and anxieties that come with being over-educated, minimally employed, mostly single, and on your own, Emma Koenig has composed this book full of journal entries about being in her 20’s. This book is hysterical and a source of comfort for when you’re feeling like the world is falling apart around you, (basically every time you can’t figure out what the hell you’re doing with your major). I recommend everyone get a copy of this book, it’s less than nine bucks.
Well, damn. Looks like I’ll have to pick this one up.

Eternity Served Cold (8-Bit)
Moar bits!!! Yeah. Another song I wanted to 8-bit-ify. Not 100% 8-bit, I cheated with the percussion again, but whatever. Enjoy your favorite villain in fewer bits than ever before. Also I didn’t actually do the whole song, just the part that was in the [S] Caliborn: Enter flash. I might do the full version later.
Original “Eternity Served Cold” by Malcolm Brown. Sprite by Feastings, original album art by Rennerei, pixillation by me.
You can download the mp3 here.

A walk down memory lane. The voice acting and dialogue from these games is auditory chocolate melting in my mouth/ears.
R.I.P. Tony Jay (1933 - 2006). No one could voice a manipulative Lovecraftian ‘god’ quite like you.
Edit: I understand why they retconned some of the dialogue for later installments in the series, but am I the only one who prefers the final exchange in this game to the opening cutscene in Soul Reaver 2?
I’m a bit disturbed about how much of the dialogue I still remember by heart after all these years. Oh man, good times.
And you’re not the only one; I really enjoy how genuinely angry and resentful Raziel and Kain sound in this game (especially Raziel). And while this anger is sort of present in the other games as well, it’s really mellowed out in comparison. Here it’s barely contained and aaaah, voice acting is so wonderful in this game.
