After a careful consideration of all the pros and cons, I finally decided to sell my bike. I haven’t really been using it for some time now, not as often at least, so it was a real pity to watch it just stand around and take up space - especially since it’s still a good well-kept bike (as I take good care of my things). So, this man (in his forties, maybe?) came to pick it up today and even though I was a bit sad about the whole situation (on top of getting good care of my things I get stupidly attached to them), his enthusiasm and genuine happiness made it up for me. He told me how he recently started to be more active and how it made him feel better both physically and mentally, and that he got a bike buddy and that they were going to go on at least one bike trip a week. And when the whole transaction was done, he told me not to worry because he is going to take super good care of the bike as well and I was and still kind of am all C’: about it.
The bike now has a new home where it’s going to be appreciated and will live its little bikey life to the fullest the way it was meant to and not as a space hogger, I’m so glad.
this album kept me alive and sane when i was sectioned and involuntarily put into psychiatric care in my teens. i ended up writing to devin after i got out and received a personally written response in return which just further concreted my love for him.
still one of my favourite songs ever.
