Celestial on the Loose: wow this is the cheesiest opening to any album and i’ve heard some... -
wow this is the cheesiest opening to any album and i’ve heard some pretty terrible ones
ayreon is basically just cheese, and more cheese. and a lot of it isn’t even worthwhile to listen to.
please. you shouldn’t try to do these fail accents because IT’S OBVIOUS THIS ISN’T EVEN YOUR ACCENT. STOP.
You could always write Fish an angry email about his accent, I’m sure he’d appreciate it.
I could write him about his terrible style of narration if he wants to persist that accent is natural.
I’m not sure if anyone persisted anything, seeing as only like two singers on Into the Electric Castle in particular are actual native speakers of English, but if you feel like you are capable of forming a well articulated argument then please do so and make a meaningful contribution to the tag, instead of just ” this is not up to my subjective sophisticated musical taste, therefore it is shit; marvel at my opinion”.
When did I say was interesting or amazing or authoritative? You’re really reading into my words here.
Maybe you should get off the internet if you get offended so easily.
You posted your personal opinion - not backed up by any substantial arguments- to the main tag, to what? Make your presence known/ to get validated on it/to stir up drama? Doesn’t really matter, but by posting it to the tag that I happen to track you kind of authorised me - end everyone else who feels like it- to reply to it so don’t condescendingly advise me to get off the internet now. Poorly articulated personal opinions and whining/screaming about things you find dumb are 100% okay and I indulge in them as well, but does it really belong in the tag where mainly fans go, especially if you don’t appreciate getting called out on it?
Don’t get me wrong; criticism is a good thing, and Into the Electric Castle certainly is the most problematic of all Ayreon albums when it comes to narration, but not so much because of the things you mentioned (as I personally am in for the cheese; tongue-in-cheek and over the top sci-fi is just something I happen to enjoy, so have at you). Really, it could make for a very interesting discussion, alas.I tag my posts so they’re organized, so I can look it up later on my own blog. I don’t give a shit about tag tracking.
You had two options: 1) Acknowledge and call out my comments, wherein you will thus spend a long time arguing with me because I won’t roll over for you; 2) just leaving it alone like you probably should have
You chose the foolish option.
And you had the option of tagging it as literally everything else, yet you chose the main tag; if you didn’t, you now wouldn’t have a foolish little me calling you out on the matter (which you obviously don’t appreciate).
And sure, but: 1) that’s what I wanted to do, but I thought that maybe you had something going on for your arguments right there (as I have stated before; I have some problems with ItEC myself) and since it was in the main tag I thought, hey, maybe we will have ourselves a discussion. Discussing things does not necessarily entail any of the sides rolling over for the other, however, it may broaden one’s perception of a thing that’s being discussed or it might simply put it in a different perspective, which can be nice. I did come out as unnecessarily bitchy in the process, though, for which I apologise; 2) I will now, since you proved to be just another person who thinks their opinion matters enough to put it on a display without any actual substance. A shame, since you claim to “know your stuff” when it comes to music.
