Ring-tailed lemurs (Lemur catta) have a very unique social structure within their groups.  The female L. catta are the most dominant in this society.   Unlike many other species of primates where males are more dominant, it’s the females that call the shots in lemur society.  The females create a stable core in each group, while the males transfer from one group to another.

Since the females are on the top of the hierarchy, they get first dibs on preferred food items and can even be seen taking food right out of the hands of males lower in the hierarchy.  Below, you can see Ansell (purple collar).  She is on the very top of the dominance hierarchy in this group, and she keeps all the other lemurs in her group in line.

Rani-ki-Vav, on the banks of the Saraswati River, was initially built as a memorial to a king in the 11th century AD. Stepwells are a distinctive form of subterranean water resource and storage systems on the Indian subcontinent, and have been constructed since the 3rd millennium BC.
It was added to the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites on 22 June 2014. unesco.org

Here is my shout-out to the women and men all over the Europe about the right of the Poles to plan their parenthood. Even though Poland is one of the three European countries limiting the access to legal abortion, current government is willing to completely ban the termination of pregnancy even if the woman is pregnant in the consequence of rape, the fetus is terminally defective or the pregnancy puts woman’s life in danger. Terminating pregnancy is planned to be criminally penalised (up to 5 years of imprisonment, also for the woman agreeing for the abortion). Eventually every miscarriage could be treated as the intentional termination of pregnancy. Also, Polish law will ban the access to the post-coital birth control, as due to the new legislature “life begins while the reproductive cells meet”. Help us get through with the message about this planned political cruelty and send a big, heartfelt FUCK YOU to the pro-life movement. Thank you.
