Octopus love

british-and-bonkers:

Tonight I’m here to mention the strange and mystical powers of the octopus. Octopus therapy can be used in the treatment of depression and anxiety #FACT

Ancient civilianisation discovered this. No it’s true, come on, would I lie to you? As sure as I’m riding this Unicorn, Octopus therapy works. Next time one of your friends feels a little down, a bit saggy at the edges, try slapping them in the face with a 30 pound  Enteroctopus dofleini, and I bet you things will start to improve from that point onwards

The funny thing about Octo-Therapy (to use it’s correct term) is that western doctors still don’t prescribe this treatment routinely in mainstream medicine. Sure we’ve all heard of Squid ink infusions for the treatment of chuckle valve rot, but still Octo-Therapy hasn’t hit our shores.

This ancient secret should be aired accordingly in medical journals worldwide, but probably will never be given due serious recognition, not since the great cephalopod debacle of 1879. In which Dr Hans Knees N.Bumpseedaisy, attempted a solo therapeutic insertion of our friendly mollusc in to an unsedated volunteer.

THINGS A PRESIDENT CANNOT DO:

Essentially, while presidents have a lot of power, it’s mostly unofficial—they can’t make sweeping laws, they can’t overturn existing rights, the most they can do is refuse to enforce them (which is absolutely a threat! and a problem!) but we aren’t electing de facto royalty here.

Everyone, I encourage you to read this. This is important information that every American–no, every person should be armed with. Hopefully, it will stop some of the fear-mongering and help us all maintain a more logical view on things.

Don’t.

We need you. The world needs you. We’ve been through this before, in one way or another, and we have prevailed. Who benefits from your death? Only those who want you silenced.

There will be blue skies ahead. There will be triumphs. This is not the end of the world.

Do not go gentle - we are here today because of the stubborn refusal of our predecessors to go away. There are oases even in the darkest of times. You are not alone, and you have not been abandoned. There *will* be blue skies ahead, and you will live to see them.

I don’t know the amount of times I have sat in history class and wondered how someone like Hitler could have ever gotten far enough in government to have that kind of power, but now I’m watching it happen live in the U.S and I’m terrified.

Thing is, Hitler actually did get Germany out of extreme poverty when its people were dying of starvation left and right on the streets, so - as much as I absolutely despise it - I can empathise with his supporters at the time on an EXTREMELY basic level. At the beginning of his political career, people were provided with the mental space to believe that he only had good intentions in mind. Now, where’s the historical justification for THIS?
